Have you seen the new Amazon Fresh grocery store in Murrieta? It opened on May 5th, 2022 at Murrieta Town Center, across the street from Sam's Club on Murrieta Hot Springs. It is the first Amazon Fresh grocery store in the inland empire and it has a unique shopping experience!
The City of Murrieta celebrated its opening in style with a clever balloon sculpture, giveaways and ribbon cutting. There were a lot of curious shoppers there awaiting their chance to be one of the first people to experience this amazing store!

Now what makes this store unique is that you can use your own Amazon QR code to enter the store and purchase your items. Then, you grab a shopping bag and as you load your bag, the cameras pick up what you're adding to your bags and charge your Amazon account. This way, you don't have to stand in line or scan anything as you shop! Talk about convenience! You just grab and go. However, if you don't have an Amazon account, that is fine. This particular Amazon Fresh store still allows you to check out the regular way.
They have all the normal items you would find at any grocery store including an alcohol section. If you're wondering how that works, the cameras are the ones watching what items you place into your cart and there is someone "standing guard" at the entrance to the alcohol section to ensure that no one underage is purchasing alcohol.
As far as the pricing goes, this store seems to have comparable prices. Their prices are about the same as some of the other grocery stores in the area; so if you're looking for significantly cheaper prices, you won't get it here.
If you have an Amazon Prime account, you can also order items online from Amazon and select FREE pickup from the Amazon Fresh Store. You can also have items delivered to your home from the Amazon Fresh store. Having this store in Murrieta will make getting groceries that much more convenient for local families.
