Where to go in the Temecula, Murrieta, French Valley and surrounding areas to beat the heat!

The kids want to cool off, but not sure where to go in the Temecula, Murrieta and French Valley area? Here is a list of 8 splash pads and pools in the area to take kids on these hot summer days!

We advise always checking with the venue when possible before heading out as hours and availability can change due to any number of factors, ranging from weather to staffing issues.

1. Castle Park's Buccaneer Cove

2. Eagle Soar Splash Pad

What to expect:

  • Splash pad is gated
  • Bathrooms nearby
  • Water is recycled so do not drink it
  • Must wear swim diapers for kiddos not fully potty trained
  • There is an inclusive playground around the splash pad
  • Picnic tables and benches around the playground

Dates and hours:

Tuesday-Sunday: 9:00am-1:00pm &; 2:00-6:00pm 

  • Closed on Mondays for maintenance and repairs
  • Closed daily from 1-2pm for maintenance

Playground is open from dawn to dusk. 

*The playground and splash pad may be closed at any time at the City’s discretion.

**The Splash Pad is closed during the rainy weather.**

3. Nicolas Splash Pad

8. Vista Murrieta High School Pool

The City of Murrieta recognizes the need for a place where residents can cool off and enjoy the summer sun. They are partnering with the Vista Murrieta High School (28251 Clinton Keith Rd., Murrieta, CA) to utilize their pool four days a week.

June 10-August 10

10. Hemet Aquatic Center

Located by the Diamond Valley Lake, the Aquatic Center is a "cool" place for you and your family to enjoy aquatic fitness and an exciting water slide. Valley-Wide Recreation’s Aquatic Center is a heated 25-yard out-door pool with a water slide, zero depth entry with water fountain sprayers and activity toys for small children. Come out and enjoy the fun.

Besides open swimming from 12:30-4:30 p.m. daily, there are a number of family activities planned at the Diamond Valley Aquatic Center throughout the summer. See the list for events, times, dates and prices.
