8 Things to Do in October with Kids + Your Free Calendar Printable!

October ... just the word brings to mind beautiful fall leaves, cool nights, apples, fall celebrations, and pumpkins! But that's not all! Did you know Taco Day is in October too? Turns out there's so much to celebrate and do this month in Temecula-Murrieta-French Valley. Here are eight ideas on how to celebrate the month of October with your kids.

1. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The City of Murrieta is helping to raise awareness about Breast Cancer with two events this month.  

2. Crunch into tacos

Oct. 4

3. Suck up some noodles

It's National Noodle Day on Oct. 6, a day we love (for obvious reasons!) here at Macaroni KID. 4. National Walk to a Park Day

5. Pick apples

Oct. 21

Head to Oak Glen to pick your own apples on Oct. 21, which is National Apple Day. Picking apples at any of the apple farms in Oak Glen is always a favorite thing to do with our kids ... plus the picture opps can't be beat!   Also don't forget to try some of their Apple Pie ๐Ÿ˜‹.

6. Make a difference

Oct. 22

Make a Difference Day is Oct. 22! It's a great time to find a place in our are where you can volunteer with your kids. There are some family-friendly volunteer opportunities coming up around town which include:

  • City of Temecula Homeless Outreach Program Hygiene Kits - Make Male Kits - soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, disposable razor, socks, deodorant, cologne or spray, all placed in a ziplock bag. You can find these items at the dollar store. 1 kit = 2 hours. Email Mrs. Washko - dwashko@tvusd.us with any questions and deliver the kits to Sparkman Alternative Education Center in Room

    7. National Candy Corn Day
    Oct. 30

    Halloween is many kids' favorite holiday (our kids have been talking about possible costumes since July!). Have fun trick or treating in Temecula-Murrieta-French Valley and beyond!
