It's been a tradition in our house for several years to put together a "Thankful Tree" which we display for Thanksgiving on our Dining Room Table. We thought we'd share our tradition with you. Our Thankful Tree has looked different over the years depending on what materials we can find. You can definitely be creative and use whatever materials you can find to create your own Thankful tree.
This year, I found this light up branch, the wooden acorn ornaments and the wooden leaves on sale at Micheal's. The vase was one I already had. I filled it with pine cones from Wal-Mart. My kids were each given an acorn to decorate and write what they're thankful for on. Then, we simply hung the acorns on the branches. In the past, we've gone outside and picked out branches that fell from the trees to use for our Thankful Tree and just made paper leaves with construction paper. It's definitely a tradition you can do differently every year and is totally open to your and your children's creativity. It's a great way to get the kiddos thinking about being thankful for all that they have and get them involved in helping with the decor for the Thanksgiving table.
