We had the opportunity to enjoy Summer Nights at the San Diego Botanic Garden for their first concert of the season this past Thursday. Amaya and all the other children there loved the singing, dancing, bubbles and fan craft. We also had the chance to check out parts of the garden we missed the last time we were there and it was so beautiful with the sun setting in the background and the temperatures dropping to cooler, more bearable temps.
Savage Gardens
“The Real and Imaginary World of Carnivorous Plants”
July 1 – October 29
Explore the bizarre and captivating world of carnivorous plants with this fascinating exhibition. In addition to a collection of real carnivorous species on display, get a bug’s-eye perspective with three larger-than-life installations inside and around our 8,000 square foot, glass-enclosed Dickinson Family Education Conservatory. Featuring multiple Sarracenia Trumpets, a walk-in Fanged Pitcher Plant Nepenthes, and a moving, interactive Venus Flytrap, all installations are constructed with aluminum and resin offering incredible interpretations of these unique plants.
If you are look for some refreshments while you're at the garden, they have a cafe near the big gazebo just off the event parking lot where you can grab some chips, muffins, coffee, juice, kombucha and more. You can also pre-purchase food if you are coming for one of their summer concerts HERE. Perfect if you're like me and you didn't get your morning coffee before you left the house or your child decides she doesn't like any of the snacks you packed 🤣.
There are also bathrooms right across from the entrance to the Hamilton Children's Garden and across from the large lawn near the gazebo. They are clean and in the perfect spots for when your kiddo has a bathroom emergency.
It was such a wonderful evening at the San Diego Botanic Garden . We enjoyed our time together and all of the beauty there is to find there.
When visiting events and local businesses, be sure to tell them Macaroni KID sent you... and don't forget to tell all your friends!
