An Earth Day Craft You can do at home:

A lantern made of dried flowers, tissue paper and glue.  This is a simple craft that you could potentially have all the items for in your house.  It's a great way to preserve nature and recycle paper into something beautiful!

All you will need is:

Flowers (fresh or already dried and pressed)

An iron if you're going to use fresh flowers and need to press/dry them

Wax paper (if you need to press/dry your flowers)

Tissue paper (preferably white)

School glue

Water

Paint Brush

Twinkle Lights

Balloon

We found beautiful Fresh Flowers in our neighborhood.
I used my heat press to press and dry the flowers between sheets of wax paper.

Use 1 part glue/1 part water.  Do a layer of paper and glue around entire balloon, add flowers and put white paper over the flowers with another layer of glue solution.

Once glue is dry, deflate balloon.  Add twinkle lights in it.

When visiting events and local businesses, be sure to tell them Macaroni KID sent you... and don't forget to tell all your friends!
