Touted as "the largest bike park of its kind in Southern California," Menifee's Gale Webb Action Sports Park celebrates its one-year anniversary next month and the public is invited to join the hoopla.

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nov. 4 at the park located at 26533 Craig Avenue. The celebration includes demonstrations, open ride sessions, food vendors, music, a bike raffle for volunteers who help keep the park maintained, and more.

If you've never been to the Gale Webb Action Sports Park, it's big. The six-acre facility includes a 22,000-square-foot pump track, three jump lines of varying skill levels, and over 30 obstacles. It's a regional attraction and has hosted several prominent action sports icons, including Vans Vice President Steve Van Doren and BMX legends Eddie Fiola, Pat Casey, Bella Hammond, Andy Buckworth, and Dylan Stark.

The park is named after long-time Menifee resident Gale Webb, who is an inductee into both the Skateboarding Hall of Fame and the BMX Hall of Fame. She has been a popular athlete in the extreme sports world dating back to the 1960s.

As she has done throughout her career, Webb continues to inspire and encourage youth to pursue their dreams.
