Rain or shine, Santa is coming to Old Town Temecula on Dec. 1.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the city's annual Santa's Electric Light Parade will make its way through the popular destination — and the holiday event is free to attend.
The parade route begins at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Del Rio Road and will head south, ending at Old Town Front and First streets (see map below).

Bring blankets and chairs to watch the festivities.
Free public parking is available in the Old Town Parking Garage, 6th Street parking lot and dirt lots located at Santiago and Ynez roads. Handicap parking is available on 6th Street.
Old Town Temecula will be difficult to access on parade day due to road closures that include:
- Main Street west closed from 8 a.m. to midnight
- Jefferson Avenue closed heading south at Overland Drive from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. (parade traffic only)
- Del Rio Road closed 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Las Haciendas Street closed 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Calle Cortez closed 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Jefferson Avenue-Via Montezuma to Rancho California Road southbound closed from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Jefferson Avenue northbound from Rancho California Road closed 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Main streets from Mercedes Street to Murrieta Creek closed from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Old Town Front Street from Rancho California Road to Santiago Road closed from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Old Town Front Street from Santiago Road to Old Town Temecula Harley-Davidson (28964 Old Town Front Street) closed from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Rancho California Road-Old Town Front Street to Diaz Road closed from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- First Street/Santiago Road closed between Pujol Street and C Street from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Detours:
Overland Drive:
• Drivers will be forced right onto Jefferson Avenue toward Winchester Road
• For access to Old Town, cross over Jefferson Avenue and turn right onto Commerce Center Drive (left for parade vehicles only) toward Winchester Road; at Winchester Road, turn left and then left onto Diaz Road
Jefferson Avenue:
• Drivers will be forced onto Overland Drive toward Ynez Road
Rancho California Road:
• Heading west on Rancho California Road, drivers will be forced north or south onto Ynez Road (hard closure at Jefferson Avenue)
• Heading east on Rancho California Road, drivers will be forced north at Diaz Road to Winchester Road or south to Pujol Street
Temecula Parkway/Old Town Front Street intersection:
• No thru traffic onto Old Town Front Street
• Detour onto Interstate 15 or east onto Temecula Parkway
