1. **Theme Selection:** Explore creative themes for the baby shower and gender reveal. From classic to trendy, choose a theme that resonates with the parents-to-be. We kept it super easy and just kept everything classically blue and pink.
2. **Invitations:** Design adorable invitations that reflect the chosen theme while keeping the gender reveal a delightful surprise. Canva has a bunch of fun options or you can put together one on Evite.com.
3. **Decorations:** Provide ideas for decorating the venue with colors and elements that match the selected theme. My Party A La Carte put together a beautiful backdrop for photos and for doing the actual cutting of the gender reveal cake. We were able to find some simple and inexpensive decor to add to the tables from Party City.
4. **Games and Activities:** Plan engaging games and activities that involve all guests, building excitement for the gender reveal. Consider baby-related trivia, guessing games, or interactive activities. Amazon has some great game options that you can just have delivered to you ready-made. Our event included children so we also had Paintable Cookies 🍪 from Teamz Bakery which was a great activity for the kids. They were able to paint their cookies in the color that matched their guess of the baby's gender or they could just be creative and decorate their cookies in any colors they wished before then enjoying their delicious cookies. We also had Daisy Doodles come out and do some balloon art for the kids which kept them entertained as the adults played games and enjoyed each other's company.
5. **Gender Reveal Ideas:** We had a couple fun gender reveal ideas for our gathering. Segura Baking Co. made a beautiful gender reveal cake 🍰 that looked and tasted so wonderful! We also had water bottles out with "baby dust" (powdered drink mix packets in the color of the baby's gender) that guests could sprinkle into their drink to find out the gender of the baby.
6. **Menu and Refreshments:** Choose whatever makes the mom-to-be happy as far as food goes. Our mom-to-be loves brigedeiros from Josie's Sweet Bites and Charcuterie from Simply Cheese and Yums. We also included cupcakes from Segura Baking Co. for everyone to enjoy. There were also some juice boxes and orange cups for the kids to snack on. We had bottles of water for everyone as well which were decorated for the occasion as well by ImPerfect Ari.
7. **Party Favors:** The Sugar Spot put together these adorable pink and blue taffy bags as party favors for our gender reveal/baby shower.
8. **Photo Opportunities:** We had the perfect spot to take photos thanks to the beautiful backdrop decor from My Party A La Carte. We also found some cute selfie props from Party City that we all had fun using for photos.
9. **Gift Ideas:** Amazon has some great suggestions for baby gifts and parents can create a registry that's easy for party guests to find and make purchases from. There is the option to have it sent straight to the home of the expecting parents or guests can have them sent to their own homes so they can wrap them up and bring them to the shower. Expecting parents can also creating a setting for more expensive gifts so that shower guests can contribute to pricier items if they'd like. This can be helpful for items like strollers, car seats, cribs, baby carriers, etc.
Remember to tailor these ideas to the preferences of the parents-to-be and the overall atmosphere they envision for their baby shower and gender reveal celebration. Make sure to start with picking a date first and setting your party venue first before reaching out to businesses for activities, food, decor and more. Don't forget the little details like utensils, cake cutters, serving utensils, cups and plates. Starting a Note on your phone can be a great way to help you stay organized and help you keep all your ideas and updates in one place for you to refer to.
