A new temporary mural will be unveiled at Sam Hicks Park in February celebrating the new Lunar New Year, the city of Temecula announced.

The unveiling is planned for 5 p.m. on Wed. Feb. 7, and all are welcome to enjoy the new work of art and some light refreshments.

The large colorful dragon is the next installment of the city's temporary mural project, organized by Bigfoot Graphics. Local young artists create massive paintings to showcase the changing seasons and unique holidays.

The most recent mural celebrates the Lunar New Year and was painted by student volunteers from the National Charity League's Temecula and Murrieta Chapter.

The mural celebrates the Lunar New Year and was painted by several local high school seniors from the National Charity League. Ayva Scarth, Lauren Rhee, Maya Fitzpatrick, Charys Hong, Avery Steele, and Hunter Stackpole's works of art will remain outside of Sam Hicks Park from January-February 2024.

For the past several years, these young artists have donated their time to help many philanthropies in the local area. They are proud to present this painting as a token of their friendship and devotion to helping others.

The Temecula Museum will continue the celebration of the Lunar New Year through facts and free crafts in the museum’s Art and Education Room. All are welcome! For more information, please call 951-694-6450.
