SesamePlace® San Diego, the only theme park on the West Coast based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, is welcoming springtime to San Diego with Elmo’s Springtacular, running on select dates from April 13 to May 19. Included with park admission, guests can enjoy chalk art, a nature-themed scavenger hunt, and a special Spring story time. For the first time, Blippi will be making a special guest appearance at the park on May 4 & 5 to meet families and perform in a special interactive stage experience. The park’s water attractions will be open for guests to enjoy splashy family fun on select dates based on weather temperatures.
Nature and Art Activities Bloom During Elmo’s Springtacular
Spring will bloom at SesamePlace San Diego as the park celebrates nature, art, and all that makes springtime special. Offerings include:
- SesamePlace Welcomes Blippi – Blippi loves visiting new places and meeting new friends! On May 4 & 5, guests at SesamePlace San Diego can enjoy Blippi Meet & Greets and an interactive experience at Sesame Street Theater!
*Please note: the character Blippi will be played by a professional stage performer specifically trained for the experience.Guests must have park admission and a timed reservation for the Blippi Meet & Greets.
- Spring Scavenger Hunt – Guests can go on a fun-filled search to find all the Spring surprises hidden around the park. Free activity sheets can be picked up and turned in at Guest Services for a special prize.
- Chalk Art – Guests can have fun expressing their creativity by decorating the sidewalks of SesamePlace with complimentary chalk.
- Spring Storytime – Children can learn about what makes springtime special during a special story time at Big Bird’s Nest
- Special Character Meet & Greets – There’s nothing like seeing furry friends dressed up for a special celebration! Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, and more will greet guests and take photos in their bright springtime attire during the event.

Splash into Spring & Summer with Waves of Fun
SesamePlace’s exciting water attractions will open on select dates for the Spring and Summer seasons. The park’s water attractions offer something for the whole family – including The Count’s Splash Castle, the park’s newest addition which features 111 play elements across the multilevel play structure. Toddlers and small children will love splashing around in Elmo’s Silly Sand Slides, while older children will enjoy the thrill of Cookie’s Monster Mixer and Oscar’s Rotten Rafts!
In addition to the open water attractions, guests can enjoy exciting rides including Super Grover’s Box Car Derby and the Sunny Day Carousel, an engaging musical play area, the interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood complete with the iconic 123 Stoop, daily live character shows, an award-winning parade, and more. Plus, Dine with Elmo & Friends at the ALL-NEW Sunny Day Café, where guests can enjoy a delicious meal alongside Elmo and their favorite furry friends, will be opening soon for a dining adventure the whole family will love!
