Looking for a fun, family-friendly event in Temecula? Hosted by Gloria and Javier Arjona, and presented by Temecula Presents, this special event features the dynamic Conjunto Jardín and dancer Delilah Vásquez, with a special opening performance by renowned Peruvian guitarist Ciro Hurtado.
What to Expect:
Conjunto Jardín is a group that brings the rich Son Jarocho tradition from Veracruz, Mexico, to life. The band is led by talented sisters Libby and Cindy Harding, who play the jarana (a small strummed rhythm guitar) and the requinto (a four-string lead guitar). Their beautiful sibling harmonies float over energetic rhythms created by a unique blend of Peruvian cajón, bass, and harp-like keyboards. The music is lively and fun, with a modern twist that’s perfect for families. Even if you’ve never heard Son Jarocho before, you’ll find yourself wanting to get up and dance!
Adding to the fun, guest dancer Delilah Vásquez will wow the audience with her zapateado footwork, a traditional Mexican dance style that uses rhythmic foot stomping to create a beat. The whole family will be mesmerized by her moves! After opening the show, guitarist Ciro Hurtado will also join the band, creating an unforgettable musical experience.
Conjunto Jardín is no stranger to the spotlight. The group was nominated for Best Latin/Salsa Artist at the L.A. Weekly Music Awards and received an L.A. Treasures Award from the City of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times described their performance as “captivating” and praised the way their traditional music brings new audiences into the fold.
