Hey, busy moms! The holidays are just around the corner, and if you’re anything like me, you probably have a list of things to get done before the festivities begin. One thing that’s always on my list? Decluttering! And guess what? Temecula is making it super easy for all of us to do just that with their upcoming Citywide Cleanup Day on Saturday, October 26.
This event is the perfect opportunity to clear out all that extra household waste and bulky items that have been piling up around the house (you know, the ones you’ve been meaning to deal with but just haven’t had the time!). From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chaparral High School (or until bins are full), Temecula residents can bring in unwanted items to dispose of for free. How amazing is that? It’s a stress-free way to prep your home for the holidays!
Here’s what you need to know:
- Date & Time: Saturday, October 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until the bins are full).
- Location: Chaparral High School, 27215 Nicolas Road.
- Important: The event is only open to Temecula residents, so don’t forget to bring proof of residency! A driver’s license, ID, utility bill, or property tax statement will work.
What You Can Bring:
- Anti-freeze
- Motor oil
- Auto batteries (limit of 2 per resident)
- E-waste (household electronics)
- Large, bulky items
- Green waste
- Small, empty gas-operated equipment
What You Can't Bring:
- Household batteries
- Chemicals or solvents
- Gasoline or empty drums
- Fluorescent light tubes
- Paint
- Pesticides
- Thermostats
- Tires
- Hazardous waste
- Needles or sharp objects
Unfortunately, junk haulers and trailers won’t be allowed, but they’ll be redirected to the Perris yard.
And there’s more! The Temecula Sustains team will be offering two free bags of mulch per household while supplies last. I don’t know about you, but free mulch for my garden? Yes, please!
This is such a great way to give your home a little refresh ahead of the busy holiday season. So gather up those old electronics, bulky furniture, and other unwanted items, and head on over to Chaparral High School for a day of decluttering! I know I’ll be there, taking advantage of this opportunity to lighten the load around the house before all the holiday guests arrive.
Happy cleaning, mamas!
