Old Town Temecula Halloween Carnival Promises Free Family Fun

Coming to beautiful Old Town, with games and contests in store for all who dare to play!

By Ashley Cunningham - Press Release from City of Temecula September 26, 2021

Temecula will get a little haunted for Halloween, and families are invited to join the spooky fun.

The city's annual free Halloween Carnival returns Friday, October 29, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm., in Old Town. The event was canceled last year amid COVID-19.

Carnival games and "spooktacular" activities will take place throughout the Old Town area, with the main attractions stationed in Town Square Park (41000 Main Street). Other scary-fun activities are planned at the Temecula Valley Museum (28314 Mercedes Street), and a costume contest will happen on the front steps of City Hall, according to the city.

Carnival attendees can also trick-or-treat in Old Town: First responders at the police substation and Fire Station 12 on Mercedes Street will be handing out candy. Old Town merchants are being encouraged to pass out treats to the witches and goblins of Temecula. Visit TemeculaCA.gov/Events the week of the carnival for a list of participating businesses.

"We are thrilled to once again provide safe and just 'a little spooky' family fun at Temecula's wildly popular annual Halloween Carnival," Temecula Mayor Maryann Edwards said. "This year, the party's coming to beautiful Old Town, with games and contests in store for all who dare to play! Our children loved this fun, fantasy-filled Temecula family tradition and it's so fun to see our grandchildren loving it too!"

City Councilmember and Temecula Community Services District President Zak Schwank said he's looking forward to seeing all the costumes.

"This event is all about safe, family-fun and I am excited to add the element of the proximity to police and fire stations in Old Town Temecula," he said. "Additionally, as a previous judge in the costume contest at our annual Halloween Carnival, I have seen some amazing creativity from our residents over the years. I am looking forward to seeing the unique, funny, and spooky costumes on the steps outside City Hall!"
